Elsie  Burridge
Elsie D. Burridge of Plaster Rock passed away peacefully at the Grand Falls General Hospital on August 11, 2015. She was the widow of the late Albert Burridge.

Elsie was born in Fredericton, NB, on November 22, 1928. She was the daughter of the late Crudence and Elsie (Baker) Schofield. Elsie leaves behind her sons Ed Burridge (Nancy) of Sackville, NB, Les Burridge (Holly) of St. Andrews, NB, and David Burridge (Annette) of Fort St. John, BC; seven grandchildren David, Brian, Emily, Jeff, Will, Jonah, and Tristen Burridge; seven great grandchildren; her sister Hazel Bucci of Plaster Rock; her sister-in-law Joyce Schofield of Plaster Rock; her brother-in-law Dr. Robert Burridge of Fredericton; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; her sister Helen Roberts; brothers Bill, Wallace, and Ed Schofield; as well as an infant baby sister, Mary.

Elsie graduated from the Saint John School of Nursing in 1950 and was a fixture at the Tobique Valley Hospital for over 30 years, retiring as Director of Nursing. She was very active in the United Church, singing in the choir for a number of years and serving and many committees.

She enjoyed her grandchildren, celebrating their achievement and looking forward to their visits, including annual get-togethers for the World Pond Hockey Championship.

Funeral service was held on Monday, August 17, 2015 at 1 pm from St. Andrew's United Church. Rev. Fran Bedell officiated. Interment followed in the Plaster Rock Community Cemetery.

Music for the service was by organist Kenneth Campbell and the church choir. The eulogy was given by Ed Burridge.

Elsie's family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff of the Grand Falls General Hospital for their excellent and compassionate care.

Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock.
