Mary Bawn MacKellar
Following a brief illness, Mary Bawn MacKellar of Arthurette passed away at Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital on November 14, 2015.

Mary was born in Kilmarnock, Scotland on February 1, 1924. She was the daughter of the late James and Sarah (MacDonald) Ralston. Mary leaves behind her daughters Sarah Sappier (Dana) of Fredericton, Jacqueline MacKellar of Perth-Andover, Margaret Kennard of Arthurette; her sons James MacKellar (Nanette) of Red Rapids, Colin MacKellar (Karen) of Arthurette, John MacKellar of Arthurette; her grandchildren James D., Tina, Justin, Brook, Janice, Ainsley, Adrienne, Taylor, and Cassie; 12 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband John A. MacKellar; her sisters Margaret, Sarah, and Jean; brothers James, William, and John.

Mary was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was known to her family as Meme and they were her life. Mary came from Scotland in 1946 after marrying the love of her life, Jack. Mary loved walking, clogging, needlepoint, knitting, and reading. She always listened to anything her family had to say and always encircled them with love. Mary was very proud of her Scottish heritage but became a proud Canadian and took Arthurette as her home.

Mary was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Branch #85. She was also a member of the War Brides Association.

A graveside service was be held at St. Helen's Anglican Cemetery in Licford, NB on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 1 pm. Rev. Steve Harnish officiated.

Music for the service was by Darlene Morton.

Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover.
