Joseph Farquhar
With his family by his side, Joseph Farquhar of Upper Kintore, NB passed away peacefully in the Veteran's Wing of the Falls Villa on April 14, 2016.

Joseph was born in Upper Kintore, NB on September 22, 1919. He was the son of the late John and Bessie (Porter) Farquhar. Joseph leaves behind his sons Ross Farquhar of Fredericton, Robert Farquhar (Gail) of Hazelbrook, PEI, Garth Farquhar (Jackie) of Upper Kintore; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife Dorothy Farquhar (Barclay); his sisters Kathleen Laforest and Alice London.

Joseph was a Veteran of the Second World War, serving with the Canadian Military in England, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany. He retired from being a forest ranger after 36 years of service. Following retirement, Joseph became avidly involved in many different activities. Among them was playing the fiddle and music in general, gardening, square dancing, photography of nature scenes, and bird watching. He was also a founding member of the Wednesday Evening Fiddlers. Joseph was also a very active member of the Upper Kintore United Church of Canada. He served as church elder and clerk of session for 28 years

Funeral service was held on Sunday, April 17, 2016 at 2 pm from Brunswick Funeral Home. Mr. Ray Andersen officiated. Interment followed in the Upper Kintore United Church Cemetery.

The eulogy was given by Garth Farquhar. Flower carriers were Joey and Jennifer Farquhar.

Pallbearers were Garold Hanscom, Robert Lafrance, Daniel Hirschi, Kevin McInnis, Kent King, and Rick Beaulieu.

Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover.
