With his loved ones by his side, James Edward Smith of Arthurette, NB
passed away peacefully at home on April 24, 2016.
Jim was born in Plaster Rock, NB on March 31, 1952. He was the son of the late Richard Walter and Constance Jean (Skinner) Smith. Jim leaves behind his loving wife Rowena Louise Smith (Bailey); his children Mildred Jean Skipper and Rebecca Lynn Pyne, both of Calgary, Jake Richard Smith (Melissa) and Margot Louise Smith, both of Arthurette; his step-children David Bailey (Tammy) of Fredericton, Julie Bailey of Arthurette, Joseph Bailey (Tammy) of Arthurette; his grandchildren Connor, Tyson, Diamond, and Skye Skipper of Calgary, AB, Cassie Lynn and Taylor Dawn Pyne of Fredericton, and Hazel Constance Smith of Arthurette; step-grandchildren Nick, Katie, Joseph, Wesley, Phillip, Jessica, Jack, Hilary, and Megan; his great grandson James Charles Alexander Pyne of Fredericton; his brother Gary Smith (Debbie) of St. Almo, NB; his sister Charlotte Gray of Birch Ridge.
Jim was a hard worker. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, trapping, making maple syrup, raising hens, turkeys, pigs, growing a garden and working in the woods.
Special thanks for all the loving care and friendship from his cousins Norman and Arlene.
Respecting Jim's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover.
