Edith Sappier
With her family by her side, Edith Sappier of Tobique First Nation passed away at Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital on November 30, 2016.

Edith was born in Princeton, ME on November 17, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Everett and Alice Sockabasin. Edith leaves behind her daughters Paula Sisson (Richard) of Tobique Narrows, Sheila Sappier (Earl) of Tobique First Nation, Lara Sappier (A.J. Savoie) of Perth-Andover, Sandy Sappier (Jorge Lopez) of Tobique First Nation, Debbie Sappier (Linda) of Memramcook, Betty Bailey (John) of Princeton, ME, Carol Bernard (Richie) of Tobique First Nation, Laurie Paul (Lindsay) of Fredericton; her sons Rollie Sappier (Jennifer) of Fredericton, Dana Sappier (Sarah) of Fredericton, Danny Sappier (Joanne) of Tobique First Nation, Ronnie Sappier (Opal) of Tobique First Nation, Bobby Sappier (Tina) of Tobique Narrows, Harry Sappier (Natalie) of Fredericton, Luke Sappier (Mia) of Perth-Andover; 39 grandchildren and 54 great grandchildren.

Edith was predeceased by her parents; her husband Tom Sappier; her daughter Mary-Ellen Sappier; sisters Lily Gabriel and Lena Paul; brothers William, Phillip and Lola Sockabasin.

Funeral service was held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 1 pm from St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church. Father Curtis Sappier celebrated, assisted by Father Gilbert Doddatto.

Music for the service was organist Tracy Hamilton and the Francis family. The eulogy was given by Edith's nephew, Allan Tremblay.

Pallbearers were Justin Sappier, Jared Paul, Gene Paul, Richard Sisson, Josh Sisson, Thomas Perley, Cheyenne Sappier, Shawn Sappier, Sheldon Sappier, Shelby Sappier, Nolan Sappier, Cody Sappier, Charles Neptune, Rod Nadeau, Jonathan Sappier, and Everett Sappier.

Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover.
