Leontine "Leona" Jenkins

Following a lengthy period of failing health, Leontine "Leona" Jenkins of Plaster Rock, NB, passed away peacefully at the Grand Falls General Hospital on the evening of March 13, 2018.

Leona was born in Sainte-Rose, NB, on November 1, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Martina (Mazerolle) Kenny. Leona leaves behind her daughter, Theresa St. Peter (Jerry) of Weaver, NB; her son, Roger Jenkins (Lynn) of Miramichi, NB; her brothers, Lionel Kenny (Lillian) of London, ON and Camille Kenny (Roseanne) of Saint-Rose, NB; along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her four-legged companion, Sassy.

Leona was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Wallace Jenkins; her granddaughter, Jackie; and numerous siblings.

Funeral service was held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 3 pm from St. Andrew's United Church in Plaster Rock, NB. Rev. Greg Williams officiated. Interment will be in the Riley Brook Community Cemetery at a later date.

Music for the service was by organist Peter Penny and the church choir. The eulogy was given by Leona's granddaughter, Lori Ward.

Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock.
