Leigh Everett
With his family by his side, George Leigh Everett of Plaster Rock, NB, passed away at Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital on June 9, 2018.

Leigh was born in Riley Brook, NB, on December 9, 1926. He was the son of the late George and Carolyn (Rollins) Everett. Leigh leaves behind his children, Pamela Everett (Brent Weimer) of Plaster Rock, NB, Leah Parish (Terry) of Whitecourt, AB, Michale Everett (Jayne) Cambridge, ON; 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; his son-in-law, Ted Tapley of Plaster Rock, NB; his sisters, Alberta Rattray of Perth-Andover, NB, Katie Parish of Riley Brook, NB; brothers, Thomas Everett (Dorothy) of Riley Brook, NB, Ralph Everett (Maryanne) of Riley Brook, NB, Lawrence Everett (Brenda) of Moncton, NB.

Leigh was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Laura Everett (Simpson); his daughter, Deborah Tapley; his sisters, Connie and Julia Everett; brothers, Walter, Merle, and Harland Everett.

Leigh served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1949-1976. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving 1952-1953, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #29, since 1974. He also guided in the area from 1944-2009. Leigh enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing, and spending time watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports.

Funeral service was held on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 2 pm from the Tobique Chapel. Rev. Ellen Fleming officiated. Interment followed in the Plaster Rock Community Cemetery.

Remembrances were shared at the service by Linda Knowlton and Leigh's granddaughters, Angela Steeves, Amy Sisson, and Farrah Tapley.

Pallbearers were Corbin Sisson, Paul Sisson, Chance Steeves, Linda Knowlton, Leigh Tapley, and Chris Gagnon.

Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock.
