Margaret Stevenson
Margaret Annie Stevenson of Arthurette, NB, passed away peacefully at Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital on September 12, 2018.

Margaret was born in Odell, NB, on November 25, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Douglas and Mary (Cooper) Wright. Margaret leaves behind her son, Danny Stevenson (Melanie) of Arthurette, NB; her grandsons, Alex and Bill Stevenson, both of Arthurette, NB; her sisters, Elsie Henderson of Orange Vale, CA, Gloria Moran (Gerry) of Drayton Valley, AB; her brother, Richard Wright of Alberta.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, George Malcolm Stevenson; her sister, Kate Finnamore; brothers, John and Gerald Wright.

In her earlier years, Margaret spent a lot of time in the outdoors with her sister Kate. They would play a game to see who could name the most flowers and birds they would see in the wild. When she was 14, her mother fell sick and she dropped out of school to help her father with the house chores and helped raised her three younger siblings. When she was 17, she married the love of her life, George Malcolm Stevenson, and moved to Arthurette. Her life revolved around her family and community. She was the first President of Arthurette Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Branch # 85. In her later years, her grandsons were a source of great pride.

A graveside service was held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 2 pm at the Arthurette Baptist Cemetery. Mr. Kenneth Campbell officiated.

For those who wish, memorial donations to the Victoria County SPCA or the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
