Dorothy Lewis

Following a courageous battle with cancer, Dorothy Lois Lewis of Plaster Rock, NB, passed away peacefully at Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital on November 13, 2018.

Dorothy was born in Plaster Rock, NB, on March 28, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy (Muckler) Lewis. Dorothy leaves behind her sisters, Marilyn Young (Arthur) of Fayette, ME, Kathleen Brooks of Toronto, ON; her brother, Joseph Lewis (Vera) of Elnora, Alberta; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Joanne Lewis, Ethel "Peggy" Lewis, and Jessie Trott; her brothers, Harry "Pat", Robert, Myles, and Irvine Lewis.

Dorothy was part of the first ever graduating class at Tobique Valley High School in 1949. She was also part of the first ever graduating class of the Nursing Assistant Program at the Technical Institute in Moncton in 1962. She was the class valedictorian of both classes. She worked at the Tobique Valley Hospital from 1962 to 1989. Dorothy enjoyed many activities, among them gardening and reading. However, her biggest love was her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Respecting Dorothy's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral held. A private graveside service will be held at the Plaster Rock Community Cemetery.

For those who wish, memorial donations to the Mamma Bear Cancer Fund or the Victoria County SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
