Neil Neilson

The family of Neil Gordon Neilson of Sisson Brook, NB, wishes to announce his peaceful passing at the Tobique Valley Manor on February 21, 2019.

Neil was born in Sisson Brook, NB, on December 16, 1929. He was the son of the late Thorvald and Dora (Rideout) Neilson. Neil leaves behind his sons, Kevin Neilson (Joyce) of Lincoln, NB, and Kyle Neilson (Kim) of Meriden, CT; his sisters, Lois Neilson of Saint John, NB, and Camilla Billingsley of Scarborough, ON; his grandchildren, Clay (Tanya), Alanda, Eric, Stephanie (Sheldon), Nicole, and Brody; great grandchildren, Dane, Zach, Lexi, Austin, Jacob, and Madison; along with several nieces and nephews.

Neil was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Wilda Neilson (Fields); his infant son, Eric Neilson; his daughter, Vicki Neilson; and his sister, Maxine Thornton.

Neil was a lifelong resident of Sisson Brook, NB. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing with his family and friends. He was an avid outfitter and outdoors man. He was also a brother of the Masonic Lodge for 51 years.

A celebration of Neil's life was held on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at 3 pm from the Tobique Chapel. Interment will be in the Burntland Brook Cemetery at a later date.

Many family members and friends shared their memories of Neil at the service. The music was by Kevin Neilson, Kyle Neilson, Clay Harrison, and Eric Neilson.
