Thomas Pelkey

Following a courageous battle with cancer, Thomas Gordon Pelkey of Carlingford, NB, passed away peacefully at Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital on February 27, 2019.

Tom was born in Perth-Andover, NB, on April 27, 1963. He leaves behind his wife, Merridy Pelkey (McKeen); his children, Cameron Pelkey of Fredericton, NB, Matthew Pelkey (Marie) of Rockyford, AB; his mother, Aloma Pelkey (Swazey) of Perth-Andover, NB; his father, Adrian Pelkey (Sandra Roach) of Carlingford, NB; his brother, Gerald Pelkey of Fredericton, NB.

Tom was predeceased by a baby brother and by another brother, Ian Pelkey.

Tom was a local potato farmer. Earlier in his career, Tom worked alongside his father until Adrian's retirement. After his father's retirement, Tom grew potatoes for Cavendish Farms and more recently Hillspring Farms.

Funeral service was held on Monday, March 4, 2019 at 2 pm from Calvary Tabernacle. Rev. David Ferrell officiated, assisted by Rev. Jonathan McNair. Interment will be in the Sunset Cemetery in California Settlement, NB, at a later date.

Music for the service was by Rev. David and Roma Ferrell and Carolyn Kinney. The eulogy was given by Gerald Pelkey. A poem was read by Matthew Pelkey and scripture was read by Jayanna Kleine-Deters. Remarks were also shared by Rev. E.S. McKeen.

Pallbearers were Adrian Pelkey, Seth Goodine, Terry Little, Joshua Little, Roy Mofford, and Joshua Pelkey.

Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover, NB.
