Ethel Morrell

1934-2019

Ethel Frances Morrell of Morrell Siding, NB, passed away peacefully at her home on May 21, 2019.

Ethel was born in Cliffordvale, NB, on November 6, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Myles and Adelia (Dixon) McCarthy. Ethel leaves behind her daughters, Esma of Saint John, NB, Janet (Robert) of Morrell Siding, NB, Heather (Tim) of Aroostook, NB, Monica (Terry) of Aroostook, NB, Theresa (Darrell) of Peel, NB; her sons, Terrance of Grand Falls, NB, Myles (Celine) of Morrell Siding, NB, James of Fort McMurray, AB; eleven grandchildren; her sisters, Mildred Demmings (Clinton) of Aroostook, NB, Carolyn McCarthy of Four Falls, NB, Marilyn Clews of Truro, NS, Patricia Sorensen (Richard) of Grand Falls, NB; brothers, Francis McCarthy (Kathleen) of Perth-Andover, NB, Alonzo McCarthy (Jeanelle) of Grand Falls, NB, Roland McCarthy (Carol) of Grand Falls Portage, NB; her sister-in-law, Lisa McCarthy of Grand Falls, NB, along with many nieces and nephews.

Ethel was predeceased by her parents; her husband Merton Morrell; her infant sister, Mary McCarthy; brothers, Wayne, Allison, Angus, and Robert McCarthy; her brother-in-law, Wayne Clews.

Funeral service was held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 10 am from Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Aroostook, NB. Father Gilbert Doddatto celebrated. Interment followed in the parish cemetery.

Music for the service was by Rick and Annie Christensen.

Pallbearers were Esma Morrell, Janet Morrell, Heather Thériault, Monica Everett, Theresa McIsaac, and Alice Thériault.

Ethel's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Ethel's homecare workers, the staff of the Extra-Mural Program, and the physicians who took care of her over the last several years.

Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover, NB.
