Surrounded by his loving family, Lionel Armand St-Amand of Everett,
NB, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, November 18, 2019.
Lionel was born in St-André, NB, on July 22, 1937. He was the son of the late Frank and Philomène (Desrosiers) St-Amand. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 63 years, Sybil St-Amand (Hathaway); his children, Tony (Dorilla) St-Amand of Tabusintac, NB, Edwina Jenkins (Alan) of Burntland Brook, NB, Marshall St-Amand (Linda) of Burntland Brook, NB; his grandchildren, Chantal, Andy, Crystal, Natalie, Matthew, Carissa; his great grandchildren, Anthony, Zachery, Alex, Chloe, Carson, Abbie, Connor, and McKayla; his sisters, Gladys Page of St-André, NB, Adelaide Dubé (Etienne) of Montreal, QC, Jeannine Savoie of Kedgwick, NB, Angelina Rioux (Cyril) of Drummond, NB, Jacqueline Rioux (Daniel) of St-André, NB; his brothers, Cyril St-Amand (Yvette) of St-André, NB, Félix St-Amand (Odette) of Comeau Ridge, NB; his sisters-in-law, Denise Munn (Perley) of New Brandon, NB, Debbie Hathaway of Riverview, NB, Queenie Deleavey (Wayne) of North View, NB; his brother-in-law, Robin Hathaway (Marlene) of Centerville, NB.
Lionel was predeceased by his parents; his step-mother, Eva St-Amand (Castonguay); his sisters, Lottie, Philomène, and Marie-Anne; his brothers, Zoel, Fidèle, Clairmont, and Aurèle St-Amand; his parents-in-law, Roy and Elsie Hathaway.
Funeral service was held on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 2 pm from St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Father Gilbert Doddatto celebrated. Interment followed in the Burntland Brook Cemetery.
Music for the service was by John and Sheila Burgoyne. The eulogy was given by Robin Hathaway.
Pallbearers were Jean-Yves St-Amand, Jacques St-Amand, Ivan St-Amand, Jocelyn St-Amand, Roger St-Amand, and Mario Page.
The family would like to sincerely thank all the people who looked after Lionel over the years, including Dr. Barry Wecker, the Extramural nurses, hospital nurses, the physiotherapists, and the caregivers, especially Darlene St-Amand who went above and beyond to keep Lionel comfortable.
Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock, NB.
