Roberta Harrison

Surrounded by the love of her family, Roberta Willena Charlene Harrison of Plaster Rock, NB, passed away peacefully at Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital on December 26, 2019 at the age of 85 years.

Roberta was born in Plaster Rock, NB, on May 7, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Sarah "Sadie" (Roulston) Murphy.

Roberta is survived by her children, Karen (Ron) Green of Weaver, NB, Colleen (Alvin) Hamilton of Sisson Brook, NB, Kendall (Carmen Gill) Harrison of Rusagonis, NB, and her daughter-in-law, Stephanie Murphy of Plaster Rock, NB.

She was the loving grandmother / nana to Jennifer Walker (Terry Mann), Ryan (Karyn) Hamilton, Alicia (Christian) Taylor, Sarah (Kris) Jensen, Bryan (Mandy) Hamilton, Alaina Murphy (Kevin Connors), Tyler (Ashley) Green, Ashley Murphy (Greg Madsen), and Isaac Harrison.

Grammy Bert was so loved by her great grandchildren, Ben and Addy Hamilton, Landon and Kayden Connors, and Lyanna Jensen.

She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews on both sides of her family. They were special to her and she loved them all. She also had many special friends who will also miss her.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Emerson Harrison; her son Robert "Bob" Murphy; her daughter, Esther Ann; and her brothers, Richard, Howard, and Junior Murphy.

Roberta worked at Tobique Valley Hospital for many years and when she retired she spent her time laughing and visiting her many friends. Her greatest joy was being part of the lives of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and watching them grow and flourish.

A Celebration of Life was on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 1:30 pm from St. Andrew's United Church. Rev. Steven Longmoore officiated. Interment will be in the Plaster Rock Community Cemetery at a later date.

Music for the service was by organist Peter Penny and the church choir. Remembrances were shared by Jennifer Walker, Ashley Murphy, and Ryan Hamilton.

Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock.
