Frederick Smith
1951-2020
Following a courageous battle with cancer, Frederick Malcolm Smith of
Crombie Settlement, NB, passed away peacefully at the Grand Falls
General hospital on the morning of March 4, 2020.
Fred was born in Plaster Rock, NB, on November 20, 1951. He was the son of the late Raymond and Pearl (MacCallum) Smith. Fred leaves behind his loving wife, Anita Smith (Girouard); his daughter, Amanda Logan (Ryan) of Halifax, NS; his sons, Jamie Smith of Edmonton, AB, Adam Smith (Tabatha) of Moncton, NB; six grandchildren; his sister, Lyla McCarthy (Tom) of Port Alice, BC; his brother, Jim Smith (Mavis MacDonald) of Plaster Rock, NB.
Fred was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Neil Smith.
Fred was employed by Twin Rivers as a scaler prior to his retirement. He was a fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and of the Toronto Maple Leafs. He enjoyed doing woodworking and playing golf. Fred was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 29.
Respecting Fred's wishes, there will be no formal funeral held. A Celebration of Fred's Life will be held at the Plaster Rock Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #29, on Saturday, March 7, 2020 beginning at 4 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Mama Bear Cancer Fund would be appreciated by the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock, NB.
