Mrs. Opal Florence DeWitt of Plaster Rock, NB, passed away peacefully at the Grand Falls General Hospital on June 21, 2020. Opal was the wife of the late Carl DeWitt and the daughter of the late Elbridge and Myrtle Harding.

Opal is survived by her children, Neva Everett (Richard), Louise Bowmaster (Roland), Miles DeWitt (Sharon), Lisa Steeves, Donnie DeWitt (Arlene), Tammy DeWitt Pelletier (Gaetan); her daughter-in-law, Darlene DeWitt; along with her brothers, Jewett and Lee Harding. She will also be missed by her grandkids, great grandkids, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Opal was predeceased by her parents; her husband, her oldest son, Ben; and her brothers, Alvin, Mac, Emile, and baby Oran.

Opal worked for many years at the Save-Easy in Plaster Rock until she retired. She spent as much time as possible with family and volunteered throughout the community. She was certainly well know for her bread and hand made quilts. When Opal wasn't spending time with family, you would be sure to find her enjoying the Toronto Blue Jays or curling.

The family would like to thank all medical professionals that have assisted with Opal's care during this time.

A private family burial will be held at a later date.

For those who wish, memorial donations to the Plaster Rock Community Cemetery, Linton Corner Cemetery, or the Plaster Rock Royal Canadian Legion would be appreciated by the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock, NB.
