James "Jim" Jenkins
James “Jim” Robert Jenkins passed peacefully with his family by his side on March 4, 2024.

Born June 12, 1940 in Perth, New Brunswick to James Ralph Jenkins and Roberta Frances (nee Bryson). Jim was predeceased by his first wife Rilla Jenkins (nee Brennan), as well as by his brothers Jerry, Paul, David, and sister Marilyn. He leaves behind daughter Gail Sullivan and her children Eric, Lauren, Christina, Alison, and Carolyn; son Greg Jenkins (Theresa) and their children Ryan, Cameron, and Madison; daughter Lisa D’Eon (Eric) and their children Chelsea, Tyler, and Ashley; and son Michael Jenkins (Alyson) and their son Charlie. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Helen Benda and her son James. He will be deeply missed by his siblings Ralph (Erma), Al (Pam), Susan (Peter), Jack (Michele), Joe, Guy and Patricia.

Captain Jenkins served 27 years of military service with the RCAF. Jim was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus, an active member of the St. Francis de Sales Church, and was the Past President of the Smiths Falls Legion Branch 95. He loved spending time with his loved ones and welcoming his 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren into the family.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls (112 Beckwith St N) on Friday March 8, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis de Sales Church (17 Elmsley St N) on Saturday March 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion in Smiths Falls from 12-2 pm. Interment will take place at St. John’s Cemetery in Perth, ON.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund.
