Bessie Rafter
1945-2010
The passing of Bessie Rafter of Bairdsville, formerly of Carlingford,
occurred unexpectedly at her home on February 19, 2010.
Born in Perth-Andover on February 28, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Rachel (Hathaway) Dufour. Bessie leaves behind her husband Jackson "Jack" Rafter; her daughter Sheila LeBlanc of Dieppe, NB; her sons Floyd Dufour (Carol) of Perth-Andover, Andrew Rafter (Angie) of Ottawa, ON, Jackson Lee Rafter (Tammy) of Sackville, NB; her sisters Anita Davenport (Bernard) of Perth-Andover, Leitha Tomlinson (Maynard) of Arthurette; 12 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She was predeceased by her parents; her sister Geneva Dufour, Marjorie Craig, Mareta Johnson, Hilda Levesque, Theresa Gagnon, and Margaret Smith.
Resting at Brunswick Funeral Home with visitation on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 2 pm from St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church. Father Curtis Sappier will celebrate, assisted by Father Gilbert Doddatto. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery at a later date.
