1923-2012

Alexander Dionne
Alexander Dionne of Gladwyn passed away at the Hotel Dieu of St. Joseph Hospital on January 29, 2012.

Born in Fort Fairfield, ME, on November 1, 1923, he was the son of the late Earl and Julia Dionne. Alex leaves behind his wife Marie (Sullivan) Dionne; his sisters Theresa Labreche of Saskatoon, SK, Rita Hayward of Fredericton, Betty Anne McMackin of Fredericton; his brothers Lewis Dionne (Betty) of Gladwyn, William Dionne (Barbara) of Ottawa, ON, Robert Dionne of Saint John; his step-daughters Sylvia (Mark) Heyl of Florida, Paula (Adam) Nestnov of Florida, Debbie (Chuck) Kruger of Utah; his step-son Warren (Darleen) Aguiar of Massachusetts; 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife Yvonne Dionne (Laforest); children Dale, Ivan, Joan and Gail; his brothers Leo and Ronald Dionne; and his sisters Adeline Dionne and Emily Johnstone.

Alex was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 6414. He was also a member of the local Salmon Association.

Funeral service was held on Friday February 3, 2012 at 11 am from St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church. Father Gilbert Doddatto celebrated. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Red Rapids, at a later date.

Music for the service was by St. Mary of the Angels church choir. The eulogy was given by Dwight Dionne.

Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover, NB.
