Howard Paul
1930-2014
The passing of Howard Paul of Tobique First Nation occurred at the
Hotel Dieu of St. Joseph Hospital on January 11, 2014.
Born in Tobique First Nation on September 24, 1930, he was the son of the late Patrick and Mary (Laporte) Paul. Howard leaves behind wife Mary Paul (Gonzales); his daughters Cheryl "Liz" Maloney (Bruce) of North Sydney, Caitlyn Paul, Lori Paul (Greg Brewer), both of Tobique First Nation, Esmerelda Paul (Joel Martin) of Perth-Andover; sisters Mary Viola Bowser of Connecticut, Iona Thomas of Georgia, Caroline Ennis (Dan) of Tobique First Nation; brother Patrick Paul (Abigail) of Tobique First Nation; 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; his daughter Elizabeth Snow; brother Grover Paul and Sherman Paul; half-brother Gerard Paul.
Howard was in the Canadian Army and a Veteran of the Korean War.
Funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 1 pm from St. Ann's Catholic Church. Father Curtis Sappier celebrated. Interment will be held in the adjoining cemetery at a later date.
Music for the service was by organist Tracy Hamilton and the church choir. The eulogy was given by Bruce Malone.
Pallbearers were Paul Bear, Lester Francis, Ryan Sappier, Francois Brochu, Rocky Bear, and Kishus Perley.
Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover.
