It is with great sadness that we say farewell to our beloved mother, Muriel Hennigar who passed away peacefully at Grand Falls General Hospital on August 17, 2014.

Muriel was born in Chatham, NB to Marven and Annie (MacHardy) Gray. She is predeceased by her husband Emerson, brother John Gray, and sister Margaret Hare. She is survived by two daughters, Wendy Hennigar of Plaster Rock and Ruth Hennigar of San Jose, California, her uncle Jimmy Gray of Douglastown, NB, sister-in-law Gail Gray of Sault St. Marie, ON and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.

Muriel graduated from Teacher’s College and attended Summer Schools at UNB, University of Maine, and St. Louis College - University of Moncton. Muriel taught at Tobique Valley High School for many years and is remembered fondly by her students. She was a member of the Tobique Lions where she received the Melville Jones award, Lord’s Pantry Committee, Retired Teacher’s Association and served in many roles at Saint Andrew’s United Church. Muriel was always ready to lend a helping hand to support her community and her church. She loved to bake and to try out new recipes on her family and friends.

A memorial service was held at Saint Andrew's United Church on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 2 pm conducted by the Reverend Judith Hare, Muriel's niece. Interment followed in Three Brooks Cemetery.

Music for the service was by organist Kenneth Campbell and the church choir. The eulogy was written by Danny MacLean and shared by his daughter Diana Brown. The urn was carried by Chris Hare.

Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock.
