William Lawrence "Lornie" Ward
1925-2014
Following a brief illness, William Lawrence "Lornie" Ward of
Plaster Rock passed away at the Edmundston Regional Hospital on
November 25, 2014.
Born in Plaster Rock, NB on December 24, 1925, he was the son of the late Arthur and Mary (Brown) Ward. Lornie leaves behind his wife Joanne Ward (McManus); his daughter Susan Duff (Larry) of Fredericton; grandchildren Josh Ward, Ryley (Kim) Ward, Katie (Mike) Clarke, Jessica (Charles) Paul, Sarah (Marc) Wright; six great grandchildren; his daughter-in-law Laurie Ward of Odell; sisters Linda Briggs (Alec) of North View, Doreen Knowles of Aroostook, Ruth Fulton of Plaster Rock, Grace Coughlan of Halifax, NS; his brother George Ward (Jeannette) of Plaster Rock.
He was predeceased by his parents; his son Arthur Ward; his sisters Jean McElroy and Dorothy Milton; brothers Alex and Douglas Ward.
Funeral service was held on Friday, November 28, 2014 at 11 am from St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Plaster Rock. Father Gilbert Doddatto celebrated, assisted by Harold Short-Evans. Interment followed in the parish cemetery.
Music for the service was by organist Ron Haddad.
Honorary pallbearers were Michael Clarke, Michael Martin, Charles Paul, John Sadler, and Dewain St. Peter.
Pallbearers were Bill Elliott, John Hovey, Wade Goodine, Bill Haddad, Marc Wright, and Lefty Yeomans.
Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock.
