Verna Shirley

Verna Shirley of Plaster Rock passed away at Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital on April 5, 2015.

Verna was born in McLaughlin, NB on March 9, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Everett) Bedford. Verna leaves behind her daughters Karen Taylor (Leslie) of McLaughlin, Sandy Leger (Pierre) of Orleans, ON; her son David Shirley (Nancy) of Gagetown; her brothers Henry Bedford (Gay) and Arnold Bedford (Pat) both of McLaughlin; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband Robert Shirley; and her brother Ronald Bedford.

Funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 11 am from St. Andrew's United Church. Rev. Steve Longmoore officiated. Interment followed in the Anfield Anglican Cemetery.

Music for the service was by Peter Penny. The eulogy was given by Sandy Leger.

Pallbearers were Jacob Francoeur, Sarah Judge, Robert Shirley, Emily Leger, Robert Shannon, and Pam Whittaker.

Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock.
