M. Velma  Brown
Mary Velma* Brown of Nackawic, NB passed away April 7, 2015 at the Upper River Valley Hospital. Velma was born in 1923 at Fredericton, NB, a daughter of the late Albert and Lena (Doucet) Jay.

Velma was a member of the Catholic Church Women. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, quilting, knitting, crafts, watching curling and baseball on TV and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by a daughter, Diane Giberson (Gary) and two sons, Dennis Brown and Winslow Brown (Lynn), all of Powell River, BC; two daughters-in-law, Claudette and Barbara; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; a sister, Theresa Wark (Doug), Plaster Rock, NB; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Walter Brown; a son, Sherry Brown; an infant daughter, Elizabeth Ann; a sister, Nora Northrup and her husband Ronald and a brother, Hayward Jay and his wife Monica.

Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Simon and St. Jude Catholic Church, Nackawic, NB on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11 a.m. with celebrant Father Godwin Kalu. A reception will follow in the church hall. Interment will be later at the Plaster Rock Cemetery.
