Dorothy Baker

After a five year battle with cancer, Dorothy Irene Baker of Tilley passed on to be with the Lord at Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital, Perth-Andover, on Monday evening, June 29, 2015.

Dorothy was born in Tilley on August 14, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Herbert and Hazel (Hanscomb) Millard. She leaves behind her husband of 59 years, Lewis Baker; her three sons Jeffrey (Sharon) of Tilley, Peter (Heather Stewart) of Durham Bridge, NB, Lance (Lori) of Fredericton; She was a special “Nan" to five grandsons Aaron Moran, Kyle Baker, Lucas Stewart-Baker, Tyson Baker, Jordan Baker. A special delight, her pride and joy of the last 4 years are five great grandchildren Garrett, Zackary, Chantal, Jack, and Averie Baker. She is also survived by brothers Lyle Millard (Donna) of Tilley and Alton Millard of Tilley. Also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; her sisters Geraldine Goodine, Ruth Moorcraft, and Marina Demmings; her brothers Gilbert, Gerald and Gary Millard; her half-brothers Arthur Clark and Ralph Hanscom.

Funeral service was held on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 2 pm from the Family Worship Center, Plaster Rock, NB. Rev. Daniel McKillop officiated, assisted by Bishop Dana McKillop. Interment followed in the Currie Cemetery in Tilley.

Music for the service was by Andrew and Leah Goodine, and Rev. Daniel and Ruth McKillop. The eulogy was given by Sharon Baker.

Flower carriers were Darlene Leach, Darlene St. Amand, Grave Thibodeau, Brenda McAllister, and Cheryl McAllister.

Pallbearers were Tim Leach, John St. Amand, Doug Thibodeau, Tom McAllister, Dalton Millard, and Nathan McKillop.

Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover.
