Raymond "Rex" Perley
Following a brief illness, Raymond "Rex" Perley of Tobique First Nation passed away at Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital on July 2, 2017.

Rex was born in Tobique First Nation, NB, on February 18, 1926. He was the son of the late Gabriel and Maria (Laporte) Perley. Rex leaves behind his daughters, Regina Wallace (Glen) of Plymouth, MA, Margaret Shepard (Steve) of Plymouth, MA; his sons, Rex Perley (Jen) of Plymouth, MA, Joey Perley (Eileen) of Toronto, ON, Gilbert Perley (Betty) of Forth Worth, TX, Raymond Perley (Cindy) of St. Catharines, ON, Leon Perley of Tobique First Nation, Bernard Perley (Tracy) of Wisconsin; his sister, Faith Masterson of Tobique First Nation; his brothers Elmer Perley, Jerry Perley, David Perley (Imelda), Erlin Perley (Marilyn), all from Tobique First Nation, Patrick Perley (Janice) of Fredericton; 36 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Rex was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Judy Perley (Leith); his son, Wendell Perley; sisters, Regina Looman, Bertha Sappier, Geraldine Perley, and Georginna Perley-Kipp; his brothers, Maurice, Eugene, and Carl Perley.

Raymond was a Veteran of the Second World War having served with the American Navy. He was also a Veteran of the Korean War having served with the Canadian Armed Forces.

Funeral service was held on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 2 pm from St. Ann's Catholic Church, Tobique First Nation. Father Curtis Sappier celebrated, assisted by Father Gilbert Doddatto. Interment followed in the parish cemetery.

Music for the service was by organist Tracey Hamilton and the church choir. The eulogy was given by Raymond Perley Jr.

Pallbearers were Jeff Perley, Thomas Perley, Kelly Sappier, David Perley Jr., Brian Perley, Spencer Perley, Chris Perley, and Jacob Perley.

Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover.
