Marie Wallace
1922-2020
On Thursday, September 10, 2020 at the age of 98, Marie Ethel Wallace
peacefully departed this world and went home to Heaven - her
“Sweet Beulah Land” - to meet her Lord and Savior, who she
loved and served her entire life.
Marie was born in Little River, NS on March 13, 1922 and was raised in Deep Cove on Grand Manan Island. The island was her home until she moved to Perth-Andover, NB. It was while working at Ann’s Tea Room, that she met and married the love of her life, Roy Lawrence Wallace. Marie genuinely embraced the large Wallace clan and her neighbors in Tobique Narrows. In return, she was loved and respected by all who knew her.
Marie is predeceased by her parents; her husband, Roy; her first-born, John; her brother Mendel Frost; her grandson, David Kingston; and her son-in-law, Terry Banks. She is survived by her sister, Rosalie Creamer of Saint John, NB; brother Teddy Frost (Charlotte) of Grand Manan; daughter Utah Banks of Taymouth, NB; daughter Waitie Morrison of Perth-Andover, NB; daughter, Rosalie Brown (Dean) of Corinth, NY; son, Roy Lincoln (Joanne) of Steinbach, MB; daughter Lisa Robinson (Brad) of Perth-Andover, NB; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Marie’s love of life and family, her vibrant smile and mischievous twinkle in her eye; and her ever-loving words of encouragement, will always be remembered fondly. There is no doubt that what will linger longest in our memories, and what we will miss and long for the most, will be her hugs and the sound of her laughter.
Funeral service was held on Monday, September 14, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Perth-Andover Wesleyan Church. Rev. Reg Thomas officiated. Interment followed in the Larlee Creek Cemetery.
Music for the service was by Janice Thomas, Marcus Kingston and the church choir. Scripture reading were by Marie's grandchildren, Emery and Lauren.
Honorary pallbearers were Dean Brown, Bobby Burns, Theodore Frost, Mike Furge, Donald Nye, and John Swazey.
Pallbearers were Vernon Banks, Calder Bowland, Scott Bowland, Sarah Kingston, Rod MacIntosh, Brad Robinson, and Allan Young.
Gone from this earth, but always in our hearts – “til we meet again, on that beautiful shore”.
Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover, NB.
