André Laurion

1937-2020

André Laurion
With his wife by his side, André Adolphe Laurion of Gladwyn, NB, passed away peacefully at home on the evening of September 19, 2020. He was the husband of Andrée Morin. André was ten days shy of his 83rd birthday.

André was born in Montréal, QC, on September 29, 1937. He was the son of the late Gaston Laurion and the late Louisa Madore of Montréal, QC. Besides his loving wife, André leaves behind his children, Monique (Guy (Lanctot), Pierre, Erika, and Isabelle (Denis Provençal); his grandchildren, Mishka, Valinor, Mazarine, and Viktor; his first wife, Elisabeth Grossniklaus; his sisters-in-law, Denise Morin, Madeleine Morin (Gilles Sergerie), and Claire Morin; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.

His was predeceased by his parents; his sons, Michel; his brothers, Gaston and Gérald Laurion.

André lived an intense and exciting life as an engineer, principal economist with René Levesque, an evaluator, an entrepreneur, and a translator for the New Brunswick Department of Environment and the New Brunswick Green Party in his later years. In his home he became and expert in growing peonies and in photography.

A Buddhism celebration of André's life will be held at a later date. The interment will be held in Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery in Montréal, QC.

André's family would like to thank the staff of the Extra-Mural Program for the excellent care offered to him during his illness.
