Freda Stacey

1939-2022

Freda Stacey
In loving memory of our mother and friend.

“Thank you for being a friend. Travel down the road and back again. Your heart is true; you’re a pal and a confidant.”

Freda Stacey was the kind of person who made you feel special. Picking you up when you were down. Serving a hot tea with tasty treats, playing near-endless games of cards or dice, or making a celebration
special with cakes and pies just for you, no matter who you were. There are countless nieces and nephews throughout New Brunswick who received a special birthday, graduation, Easter, or Christmas
card with a little bit of cash and a friendly note from Aunt Freda. Each and every envelope sealed with a kiss — S.W.A.K. — and stuffed full of heartfelt wishes.

Born in Brooklyn Corner, Nova Scotia, Freda moved to New Brunswick at a very early age, then called the communities around Perth-Andover home for over 70 years. When her daughters — Barb and Laura
— and their husbands — Jason and Mark — moved to the west coast, she bravely packed everything up to join them on the other side of the country, making their house a home for the past seven years. We
cherish every moment we spent with her, and her easy laugh and quick smile will be missed in our hearts and home until we meet again.

Survived by cherished brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, granddaughters (Brandy and Allie) and great-granddaughters (Noelle, Luna, and Emelena), as well as countless friends from coast to coast.

“In a little country graveyard, by the river that he loved.” Freda is now at rest with her beloved son, Wayne, who was taken far too early.

Mom has left us rich with memories of her smile, her warmth, and her everlasting love.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM on July 31, 2022 at the Kintore Recreation Centre in Quaker Brook. We’d love to see you there and hear your favourite memories about our beloved mom.

In lieu of flowers, please bring a donation for the Making a Difference Food Bank in Perth-Andover or directly to your local Salvation Army or the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
