Janetta Barclay

1959-2022

Janetta Barclay
Following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, Janetta Lee Barclay of Oak Bay, NB, passed away at the Charlotte County Hospital on July 26, 2022.

Janetta was born in Plaster Rock, NB, on July 14, 1959. She was the daughter of the late Donald and Mavis (McAllister) Smith. Janetta leaves behind her loving husband of 45 years, Malcolm Barclay; her children, Lori-Anne Barclay of St. Stephen, NB, Clayton Barclay (Pam Hallett-Seely) of Woodstock, NB; her grandchildren, Amber Lynn Brayall (Brad Hanson), Savannah Jody Inman, Justis Malcolm Inman, and Kylan Stephen Barclay; her great grandchildren, Landon Allen Michaud, Mason Royce Michaud, and one more on the way, Kane Hanson; her sisters, Carol Demmings (Kerry) of Aroostook, NB, Barbara Bowmaster (Dale) of Odell, NB; her mother-in-law, Louise Hannon of Oak Bay, NB; along with three nephews; and her sisters from different mothers, Sharon Albert (Glen) of Perth-Andover, NB, and Aleta Hanley of Tower Hill, NB.

Janetta had a passion for life. Even though her life was short, she lived it to fullest. She enjoyed volunteering, many sports, music, and dancing. She was often more concerned for other people's well-being than her own. She never complained once during her illness. Family was everything for Janetta. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family. She also had a special relationship with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Respecting Janetta's wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. A celebration of her life will be held at the Arthurette Royal Canadian Legion on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 2-4 pm. A second celebration will be held at the Oak Bay Hall on Friday, August 12, 2022 from 6-8 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Arthurette Royal Canadian Legion, the Charlotte County Cancer Society, or the Arthurette Baptist Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover, NB.
