David Currie

Late afternoon on Thursday June 22nd at 5:35pm, David G. Currie, aged 73, passed peacefully with his immediate family by his side. He was born to Hilda (Macro) and Kenneth Currie on February 20th, 1953 at their homestead in Tilley, New Brunswick.

David was a talented fiddle player and maker, he was very passionate about music. When David was not playing music he loved gardening, fishing, spending time with his children and grandchildren.

David is predeceased by his father, Kenneth Currie and his mother Hilda (Macro); his brothers Kenneth Jr Currie, and Milton Currie. He is survived by his sisters Ruth Shorey, Hilda Hamilton, and Bernice Tompkins and brother Steven Currie; his wife Gail; their two children Cindy Currie McCarthy, and Richard Currie; his grandchildren Tiffany Taylor, Briana Currie, Melissa Christensen, Gage Currie, Olivia McCarthy, Carly Currie, Addison McCarthy; as well as his great grandchildren Aria Taylor, Paisley Taylor, Noah Rieck, and Greyson Christensen; his mother-in-law, Audrey Bowmaster.

As per David’s request, there will be no funeral service or wake.

For those who wish, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Celiac Disease Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

As his grandchildren would say, he finally retired from his long worked job on the couch.
