Ellis Reuben Oakes

The death of Ellis Reuben Oakes occurred August 26, 2023 at Hotel Dieu St. Joseph Hospital. Born May 13, 1936, he was the son of the late Alton and Kathleen(Acton) Oakes. Besides his parents he was predeceased by 1 son David Oakes; 4 step sisters: Letha Grant, Elva Dixon and Signa Christensen, Nora Oakes; 4 step brothers: Ralph Oakes, Altie Oakes, Phillip Oakes, and Glen Oakes.

Ellis is survived by his loving wife Grace(Boxwell) Oakes, two daughters: Diana Oakes-Marenger(Michel) of Glassville, NB, and Cathy Ferris(Jeff) of St. Stephen, NB; 4 grandchildren Cal (Stephanie) LaKing, Corwyn(Erica) LaKing, Jenny Sutherland, Damian Oakes; 4 great grandchildren JC Gommer, Elianna LaKing, Everly LaKing, Ayla LaKing. 1 step brother Vernie Oakes of Bristol, Connecticut as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will be held at Amazing Grace Church in Limestone Siding, NB on Wednesday August 30, 2023 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Funeral service will follow at 2:00pm with Pastor Roy Dee officiating. Donations may be made to the donor's choice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover, NB.
