Leo Francis
With his family by his side, Leo Francis of Tobique First Nation, NB, passed away peacefully at his home on September 14, 2023.

Leo was born at Tobique First Nation, NB, on May 23, 1942. He was the last surviving child of the late Gabriel and Mary (Bear) Francis. Leo leaves behind his daughters, Tracy Hamilton (Harry), Tanya Francis, Trisha Francis, Teresa Francis, and Trena Hafke (Donald), all of Tobique First Nation, NB; his son, Trent Francis (Chrissy Levi) of Elsipogtog First Nation, NB; his daughters-in-law, Ruth Francis of Rowena, NB, and Carolyn Dawson of Burton, NB; his 29 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.

Leo was predeceased by his parents: his wife, Dora Francis (Madore); his sons, Tyler and Trevor Francis; his son-in-law, George Michaud; his grandchildren, Ryan Francis, Ryanne Francis, and Haven Monteith; his sisters, Helen Moulton, Camella Perley, Kathleen Solomon, Edith Jones, and Diane Hassencahl; his brothers, Mark, Patrick, Stanley, and Burton Francis.

Funeral service was held on Monday, September 18, 2023 at 2 pm from St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church. Father Curtis Sappier celebrating, assisted by Father Gilbert Doddatto. Interment followed in St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Tobique First Nation, NB.

Music for the service was by Mrs. Carolyn Dawson. Remembrances were shared by Tracy Hamilton and Trena Hafke.

Pallbearers were Trent Francis, Lexx Hafke, Donald Hafke, Patrick Knockwood, Ethan Francis, Joseph Peter-Paul, Travis Monteith, Harry Hamilton, Ashten Francis, Brandon Francis, Keaton Francis-Perley, Isaiah Saulis, Noah Saulis, Seth Peter-Paul, Bryant Peter-Paul, and Izak Francis.

Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover, NB.
