Dorilla Laforge
1922-2023
Dorilla (la Bleue) Poitras, wife of the late Adrien (Choune) Laforge,
passed away at the Falls Villa in Grand Falls on Sunday, November 5,
2023, at the age of 101 years.
She was a teacher by profession and had many interests and hobbies during her retirement: making blankets, going fishing, travelling, playing cards and "petit-train", passionate about music, singing in the St. André choir, of which she was a member for 85 plus years. She had a great sense of humor and had a large repertoire of jokes which she would happily tell without too much prodding. She loved family gatherings with her beautiful family, which included great-great grandchildren. She also had many very supportive and loving friends and caring people in her life, too many to name. You know who you are and you are very much appreciated.
She is survived by six children: Jacinthe Bourgoin (Gerry) of Winterport, Maine, Réaldine Mazerolle (Alyre) from St. André, Marie-Paule (Brian Arseneault) of Halifax, Dora Meyer (Dale) of Dorchester, Wisconsin, Jean-Luc (Joann Arbeau) of Truro, NS, Lucine (Daniel Hébert) from "far away"... St. Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to give special recognition to the employees and Doctor Shawn of the Falls Villa in Grand Falls, her last home, where she was very happy even though she went reluctantly. Not only did she receive the best care possible, she felt very loved.

Funeral service was held on November 13 at 11:00 am from the St. André parish Church with Father Paul Paradis officiating. The urn was carried by Jean-Luc Laforge. The first reading was read by René Arseneault. The universal prayers were read by Zach, Mélanie, Stéphanie, Jeanne and Erika. The collection was made by Trevor and Zach Meyer and the cards were distributed by Jeanne and Blanche Laforge-Cotte. Interment took place in the adjoining cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Les Résidences funéraires Brunswick Ltée, Edmundston.
