Elsie Michaud
With her family by her side, Elsie Michaud of Plaster Rock, NB, passed away peacefully at the Tobique Valley Manor on Friday, March 15, 2024.

Elsie was born in Odiham, Hampshire County, UK on August 4, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Elsie Mae (White) Kersley. Elsie leaves behind her daughters, Jennifer Elliott (William) of Plaster Rock, NB, Sheila Kinney (Eric) of Tilley, NB; her sons, Chris Michaud (Angie) of Plaster Rock, NB, Alan Michaud (Linda) of Plaster Rock, NB, Barry Michaud of New Denmark, NB, Keith Michaud (Wonda) of Calgary, AB, and Tim Michaud (Tammy) of Plaster Rock, NB; 25 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; her sister, Gillian Kersley of England; her brother, Peter Kersley of England; along with several nieces and nephews.

Elsie was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Auguste Michaud; her daughter, Deborah St. Peter (late Roland); her granddaughters, Chelsea Michaud, Kimberly Michaud, Holly Michaud; her great granddaughter Ellie St. Peter; her sisters, Peggy Smart, Eileen Elkins, and June Skinner; her brothers, Alan and Terry Kersley; her daughter-in-law, Marise Michaud.

Elsie worked as a cook in different restaurants in the area after her children grew-up. She was the last surviving War Bride from the Plaster Rock area and use to enjoy her get-togethers with her fellow War Brides over the years. She was an avid knitter and would knit socks and mittens for her entire family. She could also be found at any local bingo because she loved the pastime. She never miss an episode of her favorite British TV show, Coronation Street.

A memorial service celebrating Elsie’s life will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 1:30 pm from the Tobique Valley Manor. A luncheon will follow the service at the manor with interment at the Lerwick Cemetery at 4:30 pm. Everybody is welcome to attend.
