1927-2024

John Everett
John Franklin Everett of Carlingford, NB, passed away peacefully at the Upper River Valley Hospital on March 26, 2024.

John was born in Carlingford, NB, on March 16, 1927. He was the son of the late Lloyd and Elizabeth (Everitt) Everett. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. John leaves behind his loving wife, Marie Everett (Rogers); his daughters, Dianne Leighton of Caswell, ME, Debbie Thomson (Cameron) of Carlingford, NB; his sons, Stephen Everett (Nancy) of Limekiln, NB, Douglas Everett (Cheryl) of Devon, AB, and Jeffrey Everett (Janet) of Moncton, NB; his grandchildren, Shawn Thomson, Heather Sharpe, Janie Hughes, John Everett, Jackie Savoy, Jesse Everett, Zach Everett, Kari Moreland, Erin Sears, Troy Everett, and Chad Leighton; 21 great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.

John was predeceased by his parents; his sisters, Helen Brown, Alice Patterson, Kathleen Wetmore, and Ruth McCarthy; his brothers, William, Lloyd, Richard, and Donald Everett.

John’s father died when he was only seven years old. This meant that John had to learn at an early age about responsibilities. John worked at various jobs across the province. He even delivered mail on a route that was twenty-seven miles long by foot, then by horse, and finally by vehicle. John will be mostly remembered in the area for doing mixed farming, including growing strawberries for over fifty years. John never really retired. He continued working around the farm and found various jobs to keep himself busy.

A celebration of John’s life was held at the Perth-Andover Baptist Church on Monday, April 1, 2024 at 2 pm. Pastors Nathan Drover and Sheila Cummings officiated. Interment will be in the Perth-Andover Baptist Cemetery at a later date.

Music for the service was by pianist Marianne Bell, violinist Sabrina Perry-Drover, and soloist Tammy Chase. The eulogy was given by John Everett and Shawn Thomson.

Honorary pallbearers were Shawn Thomson, Heather Sharpe, Zach Everett, Troy Everett, Janie Hughes, John Everett, and Jackie Savoy.

For those who wish, memorial donations to the Making a Difference Food Bank would be appreciated by the family.

Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock, NB.
