Rance Bishop
Following a lengthy illness, Rance Russell Bishop of Perth-Andover, NB, passed away suddenly at his home on May 18, 2024.

Rance was born in Bath, NB, on May 6, 1952. He was the son of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Davidson) Bishop. Rance leaves his loving companion, Lorrieann Pelkey of Four Falls, NB; his sons, Kris Bishop (Helen) of Perth-Andover, NB, Ryan Bishop (Theresa) of Saint John, NB, and Ian Bishop of Saint John, NB; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; his sisters, Jessie Bishop (Dan Dionne) of Tilley, NB, Ruth Sullivan of Saint John, NB, Viota Burrell of Fredericton, NB; his brothers, Lance Bishop (Linda) of Arthurette, NB, and Bryce Bishop (Della) of Perth-Andover, NB; along with several nieces and nephews.

Rance was predeceased by his parents; his son, Travis Inman; his sisters, Diane Bishop and Judy Woods; his brothers, Alan and Stephen Bishop.

In his younger days Rance played drums in a local band The Tungsten Moth. Unbeknownst to his parents he purchased an old Mercury car to haul the band equipment.

Rance developed a passion for thinning and pruning Christmas trees and spent many seasons doing just that. He also loved selling the trees and especially the opportunity to chat with his customers. As well during Christmas, in any kind of weather, he enjoyed his role as Santa in front of Bishop’s store handing out treats to the kids.

Later in life, Rance could be found mowing lawns for his neighbors.

A private graveside service was held at the Kilburn Community Cemetery on Friday, May 24, 2024 at 10 am. Father Curtis Sappier officiated.

Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover, NB.
