It is with heavy hearts that the family of David Simpson of Wapske, NB, announce his sudden passing at the Grand Falls General Hospital on the morning of December 28, 2024.

Besides his parents, David leaves behind his loving wife of 43 years, Julie Simpson (Levesque); his son, Andrew Simpson (Maggie) of New Denmark, NB; his daughters, Andrea Richards (Isaiah) of Saint John, NB, and Christie Simpson (Dan McAskill) of Wapske, NB; his grandchildren, Jackson, Seth, Allie, and Alyssa; his great grandchildren, Samuel and Ryker; his siblings, Shelly Levesque (Ernest) of Wapske, NB, Rick Levesque (France) of Wapske, NB, Eric Levesque of Plaster Rock, NB, Jeffrey Levesque of Saint John, NB, Charlotte George (Richard) of Plaster Rock, NB, Laurie Daye (Shawn) of New Denmark, NB, Mitchell Simpson of St. Almo, NB, Cheryl Parish (Keith) of St. Almo, NB, and Kelly Simpson of St. Almo, NB; his aunt, Violet Deleavey; his uncles, Allen Pangburn and Randy Simpson; along with many nieces and nephews.

David was predeceased by his grandparents, Norman and Alberta Pangburn, and Alex and Sylvia Simpson; his parents-in-law, Clifford and Avis Levesque; his infant brother, Kip Simpson Jr.; his nephews, Michael Levesque and Jordan Agnew; his niece, Kiara Agnew; and his best friend and fishing buddy, Edgar Bourgoin.

David will be remembered most by his family who he loved so much, in the past 8 years his "tickle bug" Jack brought him much joy and happiness. David would give away the shirt off his back to anyone in need. There was never a child who did not take to him. He often greeted them with a hug and a scruff from his stubble on his face.

David was a hardworking man who started working when he was 16. Starting at Frasers Paper Mill in 1978 and finished his 40-year career as a machine operator in 2018.

In 1986, David and Julie finished building their family home and often continued working on projects around the home throughout the years. Many of the projects dragged on as he would halt his projects to assist others who called for help or input. He was always willing to lend a hand.

Many summers were spent on the Tobique with friends and with multiple canoe tired together. David would use this as an opportunity to have a personal diving board. Splashing those left in the canoes.

David spent many summers and falls hunting and fishing with his friends. He had fond memories of scouting for hunters in the fall. He felt most at home on the river and being in the woods.

A celebration of David's life will be held at the Plaster Rock Welcome Center on Sunday, January 5, 2025 from 1-3 pm. All are welcome to attend.

For those who wish, memorial donations to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind or the Easter Seals would be appreciated by the family.
