Harold Short-Evans
1932-2025
Harold was born in St. Stephen, NB, on February 6, 1932. He was the son of the late Percy and Patricia (Murphy) Short. He was also the stepson of the late Major Evans. Harold leaves behind his two sons, Dale "Ark" Giberson (Pam) of Caswell, ME, and Stephen Pangburn (Connie) of Plaster Rock, NB; his grandchildren, Evan H. Giberson (Erica), Ashley Giberson (Marc), Keisha Pangburn, and Shaunda Pangburn; his great grandchildren, Jayden Blair, Iziah Giberson, Tristan Séguin, and Sophie Séguin; his special friends, Kathy (McManus) and Jim Sanderson.
Harold is predeceased by his parents; and his only sister, Iris Cormier (Oct. 24, 2023).
Harold had a deep love for his community Plaster Rock after moving there in 1953. He also loved nature and all its beauty. Harold was an avid gardener and a man of great faith, "Saint of Little Things".
A special thank you to Ruth Todd for her true friendship over the years. Also to Patricia Workman for your commitment and the help you gave Harold was more than we could ever ask for. Your dedication was much appreciated, thank you.
To the doctors and staff of the Grand Falls General Hospital, thank you for the care given to Harold in his final days.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Harold's life was held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Plaster Rock, NB, on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 11 am. Father Gilbert Doddatto celebrated, assisted by Father Curtis Sappier. Interment will be in the parish cemetery at a later date.
Music for the service was by Jane Robichaud. The eulogy was given by David Parsons. Readings were by Judy St. Peter and Anne Dickson. The urn was carried by Evan Giberson.
For those who wish, memorial donations to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church would be greatly appreciated by the family.
Arrangements were entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover, and Plaster Rock, NB.
