Frederick "Fred" Rogers
1929-2026
Frederick Abijah Rogers of Aroostook, NB, passed away peacefully at
the Upper River Valley Hospital on April 6, 2026.
Fred was born in Perth-Andover, NB, on December 9, 1929. He was the son of the late Miles and Sylvia (Turner) Rogers. Fred leaves his loving wife of 72 years, Betty Rogers (Saunders); his sons, Allen Rogers (Susan) of Enterprise, NB, David Rogers (Thomasina) of Moncton, NB; his daughter-in-law, Paula Rogers of Aroostook, NB; his grandchildren, Joey (Katie), Jon (Melana), Justin (Meagan), Lori (Tony), Jared (Maggie), Jessie (Katherine), and Eden (Nathan) his great grandchildren, Emma, Alec, Maren, Boden, Reese, Alderick, Khloe, Eleanor, Hayden, Miles, Ellen, Kam, and Mason; along with many nieces and nephews.
Fred was predeceased by his parents; his son, Jeff Rogers; and his sister, Margaret Ann.
Fred worked at the Maine and NB Power generation station at Tinker from 1956 until 1998. He enjoyed visiting Jimmy Brook, hunting, cookouts, family gatherings, skidooing, four-wheeling, and driving adventures to the woods.
Fred was an active member of Calvary Tabernacle as a Board Member and an usher. Fred was also the Mayor of Aroostook for a total of 19 years.
The family would like to thank Dr. Andrew, Dr. Stone, Extra Mural, staff at HDSJ ER for the excellent care given to Fred on his many visits. Many thanks to Eileen and Barb for always being there to help when needed, you both are very appreciated!!!
A celebration of Fred's life will be held at a later date. Details will be announced when they become available. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover.
