Hilda DeMerchant
1939-2026
Born in River de Chute on December 16, 1939, Hilda was the daughter of the late Irvine and Vera (Williams) Lunn.
Hilda will be lovingly remembered by her children: Diane Dube (Claude) of Grafton, Gail Pacious (Michael) of Bridgewater, Mark Murchison (Harriet) of Caribou and Lisa Jones (Bill) of Caribou. She also leaves behind 11 cherished grandchildren: Jeremy (Erin), Annette (Ethan), Danielle (Caleb), Alex, Leah, Mark, Kayla, Jonathan (Samantha), Joshua, Alexis, Ashley; 7 great-grandchildren: Chantal, Chandler, Ben, Jack, Nicholas, Cameron, Olivia; and 2 great-great-grandchildren: Jenson and Elliott, all of whom brought great joy to her life. Hilda is also survived by her sister, Donna Hitchcock, her sister-in-law, Beulah Lunn, and her dearest friend, Mary Jean Boone.
In addition to her parents, Hilda was predeceased by her former husbands, Roy Murchison and Douglas DeMerchant; her sister, Shirley Bell, her brother, Graydon Lunn and her stepbrothers: Lloyd Lunn, Carroll Lunn, and Vaughn Lunn.
Hilda was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend who treasured time spent with her loved ones. She had a lifelong love of music, enjoyed her church community, and had a special affection for animals. She was always there for those who needed her, generously helping family and friends without hesitation. Her caring heart and selfless spirit led her to put the needs of others ahead of her own. The many memories she shared with family and friends will be treasured and remembered for years to come.
Hilda's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital for their compassionate care.
For those who wish, memorial donations in Hilda's memory may be made to the Victoria County SPCA, the Presbyterian Rural Cemetery, or a charity of your own choice.
Resting at Brunswick Funeral Home with visitation on Friday from 1-3 pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026 at 3 pm from Brunswick Funeral Home. Pastor Roy Dee officiating. Interment will follow in the Presbyterian Rural Cemetery.
A reception will be held at the Amazing Grace Church, Limestone Siding, NB, following the interment.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home, Perth-Andover, NB.
