Alphonsus Young

Alphonsus Young of Aroostook, NB, passed away peacefully at the Upper River Valley Hospital on Friday, July 17, 2026.

Alphonsus was born in Deer Lake, NL, on September 17, 1932. He leaves behind his loving wife of over 47 years, Ruth Elizabeth "Betty" Young; his children, Madonna, Sylvia, and Thomas; his stepchildren, Nancy and Peter; and his sister, Monica.

Alphonsus is predeceased by 14 brothers and sisters.

Alphonsus served with the Canadian Army for over 30 years. He is a Veteran of the Korean War.

Resting at Brunswick Funeral Home with visitation on Tuesday from 12-2 pm. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 2 pm from Brunswick Funeral Home. Pastor Brent Scott officiating. Interment will follow in the Perth-Andover Baptist Cemetery.
